Nathaniel Mellors (b. 1974, UK) studied at the Ruskin School, Oxford University (1996-99) and the Royal College of Art, London (1999-2001). In 2007-09, Mellors was resident at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Amsterdam. He lives and works in Los Angeles. Mellors work spans various media, combining original fiction, music, painting, sculpture, animatronics and installation forms to explore themes of identity, class and power.  Recent solo exhibitions include Matt’s Gallery, London (2022), FRAC Bretagne, Rennes, 2021; Borås Konstmuseum, Sweden, 2019; Kiasma, Helsinki, 2018; New Museum, New York 2018; Cobra Museum, Amsterdam 2018; Finnish Pavilion, 57th Venice Biennale (with Erkka Nissinen), 2017.
