Friends and Lovers

Shulamit Nazarian is pleased to present Friends and Lovers, an exhibition bringing together over 20 artists exploring ideas of kinship through various practices. Featuring painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture, the exhibition explores the subtleties of intimacy, foregrounding moments typically shared only privately among couples and small groups.  

The exhibition will be presented as a salon-style installation throughout the gallery, invoking the manner artworks are often encountered in domestic spaces. The works uncover the senses of longing and delicate connections in romantic, familial, and platonic relationships. Lingering on these moments, Friends and Lovers uncovers the power, promise, and fantasy inherent to such deep partnerships. The affirmations of friends and lovers can place otherworldly dreams within the realm of possibility.
