Aabee Bleue Project is pleased to present Open Studios, featuring artists Sasan Abri (based in Tehran) and Makan Negahban (based in Los Angeles).on Saturday, July 25, from 12:00 to 7:00 PM.
As part of Aabee Bleue Project's ongoing public programming, our Open Studio series offers visitors the opportunity to engage directly with artists in the spaces where their work is conceived and created. Unlike a traditional exhibition, an open studio provides a rare glimpse into the creative process, revealing works in progress, materials, experiments, and the ideas that shape an artist's practice.
Collectors, curators, fellow artists, and art enthusiasts are invited to experience the work firsthand, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of each artist's methods, inspirations, and evolving body of work. It is an opportunity to encounter contemporary art in its most immediate and personal context.
Sasan Abri
Sasan Abri is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, installation, and mixed media. His work explores the intersections of memory, materiality, and cultural identity, transforming familiar forms into poetic and contemplative visual experiences. Through experimentation with process and unconventional materials, Abri creates works that balance intuition with conceptual inquiry, inviting viewers to reflect on the relationship between personal narratives and broader social and cultural histories.
Makan Negahban
Makan Negahban is an Iranian-American artist based in Los Angeles. A self-taught painter who began his creative career as a musician, Negahban explores the relationship between the body, movement, and contemporary life through expressive figurative painting. Working between abstraction and representation, his practice combines gestural mark-making with emotionally charged imagery, emphasizing physical presence, memory, and lived experience. His paintings reflect on what it means to remain connected to the human body in an increasingly mediated world.
