The Flower Show will be installed throughout all galleries. Circa 50 artists will be included, the majority of whom will be represented by a single work. There will be a balance between historic (19th and 20th century), and contemporary works of art, and include painting, works on paper, sculpture, photography and film. The range of artists will be diverse: working from multiple perspectives and cultural origin, both within and outside the United States. Flower imagery will range from single bloom studies, still life and garden compositions, to flowers portrayed in symbolic and narrative contexts. Formal concerns will be highlighted; with themes of life, death, identity, memory and the environment infusing the presentation.
