KP PROJECTS is proud to present STILL, oil paintings by Masakatsu Sashie.

In Masakatsu Sashie’s newest solo exhibition titled STILL, the artist showcases exquisitly detailed oil paintings that explore contemporary civilization, evolution, and perseverance. Vestiges of modernity coalesce into the artist’s signature orbs, worlds-within-worlds in which the circle of life exists.

These vistas are often rendered with levitating orbs above landfills with high rises in the distance, an amalgam of the remnants of human existence. As an artist with a deep appreciation for handmade things, Sashie finds beauty in design – man made or organic, natural or artificial, seeing detritus as an extension of mankind and our evolution. The collapse of temporal space embodies globalism and a universal sense of being - both physically and philosophically.

We are constantly searching through our limited resources to create, form and constitute what’s necessary for us to advance as a human race. And as time changes through our history, the structure of our human needs changes and reshapes itself constantly... The never-ending process of creation and destruction is just another part of natural phenomenon that we continually face from the past to present day."
