Keith Sonnier: Inside Light, 1968–1970 is the gallery’s second solo exhibition of works by Keith Sonnier (b. 1941, d. 2020), a major postwar American artist whose singular vision encompassed advances in sculpture, painting, installation, video, and performance.

Throughout a career spanning six decades, Sonnier authored a complex body of work that challenges dogmas at the heart of twentieth- and twenty-first-century art historical narratives, often questioning previous conceptions of what sculpture—and indeed, art itself—could be and do. Inside Light focuses on a three-year period between 1968 and 1970 in which Sonnier first began working with incandescent gas and made many of the breakthroughs that would define his career.
