Miller’s current work takes formal cues from organic, geologic, and anthropomorphic sources, often blending them to create objects that are familiar yet mysterious. Ceramic materials are amassed using a variety of creative modes conjuring the monstruous and beautiful. Chance and the unexpected are encouraged—risk is the honesty of the work. To be true, each piece must be on the brink of failure.

Ultimately, intuitive gestures and material phenomenon are joined with symbolic clues through display strategies and finishing decisions. Final compositions present uncertain scenarios where something vital has been forgotten or undiscovered. Notions of a post-human future vibrate from within.
