Clockshop is rooted in Northeast Los Angeles and was founded in 2004. We exist because we believe the public is not simply inherited, it is continuously co-created. For more than two decades, our work has brought together artists, communities, and public lands along the Los Angeles River to surface memory, invite belonging, and imagine more just futures rooted in place. This three-pronged approach has always guided our work — and the interplay of these relationships guide everything that we do.
Artists initiate possibility. Communities carry lived knowledge, care, and accountability. Land holds memory, ecology, and the conditions that make life possible. When these forces are in intentional relationships with one another, public land becomes more than a site — it becomes a practice.
