Impact
In honor of international women’s month Cirrus Gallery and Cirrus Editions Ltd. is pleased to exhibit the women artists that we have represented with one person shows or published from 1970 – 2022. These women have had a great impact on the arts at a global level.
1970’s - Beginning with Barbara T. Smith who exhibited a monumental installation “field Piece”, an interactive experiential computer driven work in 1971.
Followed with exhibitions or publications by Vija Celmins, Karen Carson, Judy Chicago, Gloria Kisch, Alexis Smith and Betye Saar.
1980’s - Cirrus worked with Lita Albuquerque, Kyoko Asano, Linda Benglis, Pat Klein, Joan Nelson, Eve Sonneman, Linda Stark, Madoka Takagi, and Judith Vogt.
2000’s – Math Bass, Elaine Bradford, Despina Stokou, Susan Logoreci, Margret Neilsen, Maggi Tennesen, Margo Victor and Mary Weatherford.
These women artists mostly lived and worked in LA. They worked in a variety of mediums which include painting, sculpture, collage, performance, photography, prints, drawings, and video. This show was curated to show the amazing range and depth that these women have had on Cirrus and the art world.
