Block Gallery is pleased to present PRETTY IN PAINT, a group exhibition highlighting the work of eight talented local LA artists across multiple mediums.
Pretty in Paint brings us a story unique to each artist. For a brief moment, they provide a glimpse of what they consider beauty and art.
These artists hold a special place in my heart, from the admiration I have for them as wonderful people and the inspiration I receive from them within their imagination and creativity. This is the foremost reason this curation was brought together; to bring to light the beauty in each of them and the talent they posses as artist.
We are excited to welcome you to the Grand Opening and first exhibition of Block Gallery.
Cole Cavlin
Cole Cavlin is a Minnesota born visual artist, designer, and oil painter based in LA.
Moyra Pickup
Moyra’s art is an inspiring modern blend of surrealism and expressionism and celebrates the potent nuances of the female body. This series uses an eclectic range geometry and a vivid color spectrum to emphasize or separate femininity from the world around it. Using cell phone photos as references, her work interrogates the contrast between idolized depictions of Self to be consumed online and the unfiltered, personal relationship to one’s own body. Having worked as a model, her artistic practices reclaims her appearance, used as a vessel to sell products, into a foundation for sincere self-expression.
Sydney Marcus
Hailing from Louisiana, Sydney "Fatigue" Marcus is known for his unorthodox exploration of art, embodying style both in his veins and on his canvas. His vibrant colors and modern appeal draw many art enthusiasts to his creations. With an open-minded approach, he reminds us to have fun and not take life too seriously. Introduced to art through coloring books by his mother, Fatigue mastered precision and technique, which became hallmarks of his work.
As a graduate of Jackson State University with a degree in art and a concentration in graphic design, Fatigue creativity knows no bounds—there's no niche, no box. Inspired by artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, he creates with a sense of originality and intelligence. Grounded by spirituality and mindfulness, his art is both wild and meaningful.

Brandon Satterfield
Brandon has worked in the photography and video industry as a lighting director for over a decade.
Residing in NYC for five years and now based in LA for the based two years, he focuses on the shaping of shadows and light to tell his stories through his photographs.
Nate Redmond
Nate Redmond was born in Texas, he moved to Los Angeles, California seven years ago. where he began to develop his own visual style as an artist. Though Nate’s art is often improvised, a sense of direction emerges amidst the process of adding abstract shapes, lines and dots to each piece.
Eric Peana
Eric is an LA based artist, currently using recycled materials to create body like abstractions which hang from above. The figures mimic the movement of the body frozen and blurred. Like a picture of a cat running, the streaks of limbs blend into a solid form.
The figures represent those figures which go unseen/ spirits who move through the world without permanence.
To be unseen in a society flooded with data mining, the obliteration of privacy, and filled with obsession, is a rare and precious thing. The anonymity of a soul has all but disappeared under the red light of the security camera.
The Great White Buffalo Julian Prolman
Multidisciplinary artist of Moroccan heritage uses art as a vehicle for social and environmental activism.
The use of pop imagery has a hidden spiritual naritive embedded in each piece.
