IN THE PAINT
Band of Vices is pleased to announce the Opening & Artists Reception of IN THE PAINT, a preview of select works that will be a part of the upcoming private exhibition at the Los Angeles Lakers practice facility. These works are for sale and will be available for viewing at Band of Vices, 27 January - 24 February 2024.
Some of the most revered Collectors were asked to help select 14 of Los Angeles County’s most promising emerging and mid-career artists. Janine & Lyndon Barrois, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Hill Harper, Tim Harris, Arthur Lewis, Shantell Martin, Rita Morales and V. Joy Simmons, MD were comprised of that group and ultimately selected these 14 promising artists, which you can view in-person beginning this Saturday, 27 January 2024, from 4-6pm…
This exhibition will run concurrently with MASTER CLASS, a 30-Year Journey of Collecting Art from John Witherspoon and Angela Robinson Witherspoon. No RSVP is required for the Opening tomorrow.
About In the Paint: In the Paint is an organizational initiative stemming from the Lakers’ six-point Racial Equity Action Plan. As an LA-based basketball organization, the Lakers fused the worlds of sports and culture 60+ years ago. Now the organization is strengthening this connection even more by recognizing, supporting and uplifting the LA community of BIPOC artists.
