Michael Sherman

Collector Michael Sherman, known as Sherman, explains his intimate relationship to collecting art where, rather than having a specific process, he simply buys art that he loves. Forming friendships with the artists he collects is another important aspect of the experience for him as well. During this visit, Sherman showcases highlights of his collection which is heavily focused on self-taught painters as well as artists from his hometown of Baltimore. Other major artists in the collection include Deana Lawson, Rafa Esparza, and Lauren Halsey.
